HSPA (High Speed Packet Access)
Duration
2 Days (Instructor led)
Description
HSPA is the next step in the evolution of 3GPP UMTS networks. While UMTS networks offered higher data speeds compared to 2G GSM/GPRS/EDGE networks, its data rates are still inadeduate for enabling multimedia applications such as video sharing, large file downloads. HSPA and its evolution known as HSPA+ offers higher speeds in both uplink and downlink while providing similar coverage to that of UMTS. HSPA/HSPA+ also increases capacity in terms of total throughput and number of users as well. This course introduces all the enhancements made in HSPA and HSPA+ to support high data rate applications.

HSPA+ (High Speed Packet Access+)
Duration
2 Days (Instructor led)
Description
HSPA+ is the next step in the evolution of 3GPP UMTS/HSPA networks. While HSPA networks have enabled new class of broadband applications, the need for higher capacity and throughput requires further enhancements to radio interface. HSPA+ seeks to improve efficiency of radio interface allowing operators to support large number of high-speed users. It introduces major features such as MIMO, Higher Order Modulation and Dual cell operation to improve capacity and throughput. Additionally, it adds features to improve standby time and latency. This course provides an overview of all the HSPA+ features introduced in Rel 7, 8 and 9.

HSUPA (High Speed Uplink Packet Access)
Duration
1 Day (Instructor led)
Description
HSUPA is the next step in the evolution of 3GPP UMTS networks. While HSDPA did offer higher data rates over UMTS networks in downlink, it did not enhance uplink speeds. A new class of applications such as video & image share, file uploads & social networking has required high uplink speeds. HSUPA introduces required enhancements to 3GPP networks to enhance uplink speeds. Additionally, HSUPA offers better QoS than UMTS networks. This course introduces all the enhancements made in HSUPA to support high data rate applications.
